Ways to
get the most out of your brushing routine:
q Brush for at least 2 minutes, twice a
day, with fluoride toothpaste, paying special attention to your back teeth
qUse a soft bristle toothbrush with gentle strokes so that you don’t wear away your enamel or hurt your gums
q Change your toothbrush every 3 months or once frayed whichever is earlier
qBrush your tongue to avoid bad breath

q Hold your toothbrush at a 45 degree
angle to your gum line
qBrush 2-3 teeth at a time. Move the toothbrush
from the gums toward the edge of the teeth
q Hold the toothbrush vertically to clean the
back surface your upper and lower front teeth
qUse gentle up-and-down strokes
Flossing technique
qWind floss around your middle fingers
qUse your thumbs and index fingers to
guide floss between teeth
qWrap the floss around the sides of each tooth,
making a “C” shape
