       EWW!! BAD BREATH
 DO YOU SUFFER FROM BAD BREATH???



Bad breath also called as halitosis is an unpleasant odor originating from the mouth 
More than 80 million people suffer from bad breath. In most cases it originates from the gums and tongue.
The odor is caused by wastes from bacteria in the mouth, the decay of food particles, other debris in your mouth and poor oral hygiene.
The decay and debris produce a sulfur compound that causes the unpleasant odor
        
  CAUSES FOR BAD BREATH
1. Poor dental hygiene- infrequent or improper
 brushing and flossing
2. Volatile foodstuff - onion, garlic etc.
3. Alcohol
4. Systemic illnesses.
5.  Oral infection
6. Fasting
7. Stress/anxiety
8. Smoking – Smoking is the second most common cause  of bad breath.
9. Medication – often medications can
   cause xerostomia (dry mouth) causing bad breath.

 TreatingAnd Preventing Bad Breath:
Practice good oral hygiene, and flossing your teeth at least twice a day.

To alleviate odors, clean your tongue with your toothbrush or a tongue scraper.

Chewing sugar-free gum also may help control odor.

In case of dentures or a removable appliance, such as a retainer or mouth guard, clean the appliance thoroughly before placing it back in your mouth using denture cleansers.

 Use of non-alcoholic mouth rinse.
